Highly recommend!

We had the restaurant exclusively for a business celebration dinner (29 people in total). The venue was beautifully presented and the food was fantastic! Sico was very flexible with the set up and upheld a very warm and friendly manner on the night. The outside area was also lovely and great for an aperitif!

Absolutely fabulous dinner

We had the 7 course tasting menu of which L’invite was famous for. The only words I could think of to describe the entire dinner and experience are exquisite and sublime. the flavours delicately balanced. The wine recommended was superb. Our wonderful host – The service was gentle, personable and quietly timed and paired perfectly with the food. Thank you for such a lovely and truly memorable experience.

Excellent Dutch cuisine away from the crowds

Amsterdam, where we lived for a few years, has an extraordinary variety of cuisines, but surprisingly few restaurants honoring Dutch food and cooking. A good walk into the Nine Streets area will bring you to L’Invite, located in a charming canal house on the Bloemgracht, which specializes in the country’s cuisine.
We chose the tasting menu, and were not disappointed. The menu varies with availability for produce, fish, and meats but we especially enjoyed the razor clams and the lamb. The latter comes from the island of Texel, in the Waddensee in the north of the country. The lambs there are definitely free range, enjoying the salt-tinged fresh grass. The meat was perfectly prepared, the best lamb I have ever tasted. The pairings with Dutch wines were a pleasant surprise, and were well suited to the dishes which they accompanied.

Dutch cuisine with a modern flair

We were in Amsterdam for a few days before a cruise and asked the concierge at the Pulitzer hotel for a good restaurant featuring local ingredients and cuisine. He suggested L’Invite as a great restaurant featuring Dutch cuisine with a modern flair. When we arrived we were met by, as we found out later, the Chef Owner. We told him we were food and wine people and told him to serve us whatever he wanted, both food and wines. The restaurant became busy with a large group but that had no effect on the quality of food and service. We enjoyed a nice leisurely dinner with wines and produce from local winemakers and friends of the chef. We will definitely go back when we are in Amsterdam!!
